Taking vitamin supplements is certainly beneficial. However, few people realize that when you swallow a vitamin pill or multi-vitamin, the body’s natural absorption process can render up to 85% of that vitamin useless. In other words, when you ingest vitamins by mouth, only 15% of the active nutrients may eventually find their way into your bloodstream. When you receive an IV Nutrient Therapy, the nutrients enter your bloodstream directly and immediately to help the body to begin healing itself. You get much higher concentrations of nutrients delivered directly to your body’s cells, thus allowing your body to better absorb and utilize these nutrients.

Iron Infusion - $300
Iron infusions are a rapid and effective way to replenish the body’s iron stores. They can play an instrumental role for those that have low iron and do not tolerate oral supplements (meaning they are ineffective to increase the body’s iron stores or they have intolerable side effects such as nausea or constipation).
After one IV iron infusion, you can expect your iron levels to go up. This can improve fatigue, resolve shortness of breath, reduce headaches, calm restless leg syndrome, and improve hair growth, among other symptoms due to iron deficiency.
Please have your medical provider complete Bliss_Iron-Order-Form-2024_copy to submit to our Nurse Practitioner team. If you do not have a medical provider, we are currently accepting new patient applications.

A Boost to Wellness
Many people find that IV Nutrient Therapy can be a refreshing boost to their overall wellness. By directly infusing the body with hydration and essential nutrients, this therapy is thought to help maintain the optimal function of various bodily processes.
The Experience of IV Nutrient Therapy
Undergoing IV Nutrient Therapy is a serene and relaxing experience. In our calm, spa setting, the process allows individuals to unwind while their bodies are replenished. Each session can last from 30 minutes to an hour, and many people report feeling a sense of increased well-being almost immediately after the therapy.
IV Vitamin Therapy
IV vitamin therapy was pioneered by Dr. John Myers. He formulated what’s referred to as the Myers’ Cocktail: a blend of water-soluble vitamins and minerals administered by an intravenous drip. This delivery mechanism, with better absorption compared to any other form of nutrient delivery, enabled naturopathic doctors to support vitamin, mineral, and amino acid deficiencies, such as a deficiency in vitamin B12. But it’s not just deficiencies of nutrients that IV vitamin therapy is good for; it’s also one of the foremost ways to rehydrate the body!
Antioxidant Therapy
One of the most common uses of IV vitamin therapy is to bathe a person’s cells with antioxidants. Nutrients such as vitamin C, glutathione, and selenium are important antioxidants that protect your body against disease and help support low energy. Antioxidants are important substances that prohibit and prevent the oxidation of other molecules in the body. Oxidation of molecules leads to a wide range of diseases and chronic illnesses. Antioxidants are essential in preventing disease and maintaining good health!
Rehydration Therapy
Many people are chronically dehydrated and IV vitamin therapy is a great way to rehydrate the body. Whether it’s after a workout or a late night out, rehydration can shorten recovery times! Many patients state that, after an IV vitamin drip, they feel much more hydrated and refreshed.

Here are a few different signs to know if you might have a lack of vitamin B-12. Some symptoms may include:
- Fatigue
- Weakness
- Difficulty thinking & reasoning
- Pale and jaundiced skin
- Difficulty walking
- Numbness or tingling in the hands, legs, or feet

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an IV?
IV is short for intravenous (in the vein). We provide IV hydration by using a small catheter (needle) that’s placed directly into your vein. This allows us to hydrate you more effectively and efficiently than if you were to drink water. Yes, there is a small poke with a small needle, but once the vein is accessed, the needle comes out and the plastic catheter is left in its place.
What is IV Therapy?
IV therapy is a method to quickly administer fluids, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream. By going directly into the bloodstream, your body can absorb 100% of the vitamins; taken orally vitamins experience about 20% hydration and 20% absorption of nutrients. IV Nutrient Therapy is meant to act as supplements and not to replace water intake.
Is IV Therapy Safe?
All of our vitamins are Health Canada approved and go through high levels of testing. All IVs are administered by a registered nurse and performed under a medical director. Before a client receives IV therapy, their health history is evaluated.
Side effects from an IV drip are generally non-existent or very mild. On occasion, you may experience some discomfort, bruising, itching, inflammation, or redness at or around the site of injection, and this could last from a few minutes to several days. However, true allergic reactions are extremely rare.
How Long Does it Take?
The IV itself will take 30-45 minutes to complete. There are a few forms to complete prior to your infusion as well as a quick medical assessment.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are generally non-existent or very mild. On occasion, you may experience some discomfort, itching, inflammation, or redness at or around the site of insertion that could last from a few minutes to a few days. The most common side effect is limited to possible bruising at site of needle insertion.
Infrequent complications from IV drip therapy may include swelling or pain at the site of insertion which is minimized by proper post care instructions. Other rare complications may include vein inflammation and a feeling of light-headed/ dizziness. Extremely rare complications can occur such as a blood clot, allegic reaction or anaphylaxis.
True allergic reactions are extremely rare. However, if you experience throat swelling, pruritic body rash, dangerously low blood pressure, or symptoms associated with anaphylaxis following administration of a vitamin infusion, we have adrenaline onsite but would call 911 if any allergic reactions occured. If you know you are allergic to any of the drip ingredients — please avoid dripping!
Clients are encouraged to hydrate well and to have eaten before coming in for IV Vitamin drip therapy.
What results can I expect?
Everyone is different and will therefore experience varied results. Some feel more energised and detoxified after their infusion where as others may not notice a physical difference but will have more vitamins in their system which are bioavailable for the body to absorb.
Does it Hurt?
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but we strive to stick everyone just once with our experienced Registered Nurses. That said, we do offer lidocaine numbing cream if you would like!
How often should I get an IV?
The frequency of IV therapy is determined on a patient-by-patient basis. We take a customized approach to suit your individual needs. For preventative health and wellness, we recommend two IV drips per month to help balance out any vitamin deficiencies.
When Can I get in for IV Nutrient Therapy?
We have nurses on staff almost every day. Let us know when you want your appointment, and we can do our best to make it happen.
Are iron infusions covered by insurance?
The cost of IV Iron, Monoferric (derisomaltose) or Venofer (sucrose), is dependent on the individual patient considering two things: Pharmacare and/or Extended Benefits coverage. The majority of prescription drug costs are often covered for patients with one of these, however if you are unsure we can provide you with sample receipts to provide your insurance company to see if you are covered.
If you do have coverage, the only cost you would be charged here at the clinic is an administration fee .
How long does the Iron infusion take?
For your IV iron infusion, you should budget approximately 1 hour 30 mins. This includes the infusion time and a 30 minute observation period following your treatment.
How long before I start to feel better after an iron infusion?
Typically, patients start to feel better 3-4 days after the first infusion, and in most cases, continue to improve up to 12-14 days after the infusion(s). The benefits of an iron infusion can last for many months or even years.
How many iron infusions are necessary?
A single treatment of IV iron is often sufficient to restore iron levels. The treatment can be repeated if needed. How often the treatment is needed varies depending on the condition that is causing the iron deficiency, and whether it persists. For example, if the cause of iron deficiency is diet-related (vegetarian or vegan), it is quite possible that the individual will become iron deficient again. However, if the iron deficiency was due to bleeding, the individual may not develop iron deficiency again if the bleeding has stopped.
Are there any side effects with iron infusions?
IV iron infusions are generally without any serious issues with the majority of patients not experiencing any side effects. There is a small percentage of patients that may get a mild rash or flushing during their infusion. This is usually resolved by slowing the infusion rate. 1 in 10 patients can experience flu-like symptoms, including muscle or joint aches, or headaches, up to several days post-infusion. These are benign and will resolve on their own, but the symptoms can improve significantly with over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Another small portion of patients may notice their urine will briefly be a darker color. This is a variation of normal, and not harmful, which will go away without the need for intervention.
Our Nurses will review all the risks of the iron treatments, with each patient, and discuss informed consent prior to administering the iron infusion.
